Somaliland's authorities have executed six men for murder, police said Wednesday.
The executions took place in Mandhera prison following a death sentence that goes back several years, Khadar Abdikarim, a police officer in Somaliland told Anadolu Agency over the phone.
"All of them were convicted for murder. Two of them were additionally accused of being Al-Shabaab members," he said.
Human rights defenders have expressed dismay at the development as they oppose capital punishment. -
