According to NATO sources, it was determined that a Malaysia-based consulting company contacted the colonel through the platform LinkedIn. After being arrested, the colonel admitted to the allegations against him and confessed to spying for China.

It was learned that the colonel, who participated in the trip to China organized by the Malaysia-based company, was recruited by Chinese intelligence during this trip.

It was determined that after the meetings in China, the colonel also held meetings with Chinese intelligence agents in Greece, selling information about NATO's secret projects and critically important technologies for money.

It was determined that the colonel received payments in cryptocurrency and was arrested after NATO warned the Greek authorities and informed other allied countries. It was recorded that the colonel accepted the allegations against him after his arrest and confessed to spying for China.
