While fluctuations in Brent crude oil prices continue, gasoline and diesel prices are also varying with news of discounts and price increases. Starting from Tuesday, a price increase of 1 lira and 40 kuruş for gasoline is expected, which will bring the price of gasoline in Istanbul to 42 lira and 95 kuruş per liter.
Citizens continue to monitor gasoline and diesel prices along with changes in Brent oil prices and currency rates.
GASOLINE PRICE INCREASE COMING
Starting from Tuesday, a price increase of 1 lira and 40 kuruş for gasoline is expected, and with the price increase reflected at the pump, the price of gasoline in Istanbul will be sold at 42 lira and 95 kuruş per liter.
HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?
Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities.
EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGES
After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that explains price changes, the union announced that it would not share fuel price changes with citizens until the legal process is completed.
