WIND SPEED REACHED 83 KILOMETERS
The Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul State issued a storm warning due to the possibility of winds exceeding 90 kilometers per hour. It was reported that the wind speed reached 83.3 kilometers per hour between 15:20 and 16:20 local time.
GREAT PANIC ENSUED
The 24-meter statue in the parking lot of the Havan chain store in the Guaiba area toppled, causing great panic in the vicinity. The fact that no one was injured during the incident was the only consolation. Authorities took precautions by establishing a security perimeter at the scene.
INVESTIGATION INITIATED
The company announced that a detailed investigation would be conducted with the participation of technical teams following the incident. The structure in the store's parking lot, including the statue's pedestal and the statue itself, had a total height of 35 meters.
