The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made a statement following the decision of the International Court of Justice regarding Israel. In the statement, it was emphasized that Israel should immediately end its presence in Palestinian territories and compensate for the damage it has caused.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that in its advisory opinion announced today, the International Court of Justice has confirmed the legal fact that Israel is implementing an occupation and persecution policy against Palestinians. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Israel should end its presence in Palestinian territories as soon as possible and compensate for the damage it has caused.

In a written statement issued by the Ministry, it was stated that "the international community is obliged to take a determined and strong stance to put an end to Israel's illegal practices. Turkey has supported the process at the International Court of Justice by providing written and oral contributions to the advisory opinion. We will continue to make efforts to ensure that the crimes committed against Palestinians, including acts that amount to genocide, do not go unpunished."

INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE'S DECISION ON ISRAEL

During a public session, the President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Judge Nawaf Salam from Lebanon, announced the Court's advisory opinion on the legal consequences of Israel's practices in the occupied Palestinian territories. The ICJ stated in the session held in The Hague that the occupied Palestinian territories are not fragmented separate regions, but a "single regional entity."

The ICJ emphasized that Israel is an occupying power in Gaza and also in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The ICJ further stated that Israel must "end the occupation as soon as possible" and that all states are "obliged" not to recognize, assist, or support Israel's presence in the occupied territories.
