According to the population data announced by TÜİK for the year 2025, the population of Turkey has risen to 86 million 92 thousand 168 people. The population ratio in rural areas is gradually decreasing. It was determined that only 1 person lives in 3 villages located in Bitlis, Siirt, and Iğdır. The province with the least population is Bayburt.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the "Address-Based Population Registration System 2025 Results." Accordingly, as of 2024, the country's population, which was 85 million 664 thousand 944, increased by 427 thousand 224 people last year, rising to 86 million 92 thousand 168.
LEAST POPULATION IN BAYBURT
According to the 2025 data, the province with the least population is Bayburt, with 82 thousand 836 people. Bayburt is followed by Tunceli with 85 thousand 83 people and Ardahan with 90 thousand 392 people.
On the other hand, a significant decrease in village populations was observed. In some villages, the population fell below 10, while it was determined that only one person lived in three villages.
