New details have emerged regarding the death of famous chef Anne Burrell, who was found dead in her home last week. Burrell, who was discovered in the shower surrounded by approximately 100 pills, is being investigated for a suspected overdose.
One of the prominent figures of Food Network, Anne Burrell, the host of "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef" and co-host of "Worst Cooks in America," was found dead in her home in Brooklyn last week. The 55-year-old Burrell's death has prompted an investigation into the possibility of an overdose.
FOUND WITH NEARLY 100 PILLS AROUND HER
According to a report prepared by the New York Police Department, Burrell was found unconscious and unresponsive in the shower, surrounded by approximately 100 different pills. Emergency responders who arrived at the scene determined that Burrell had passed away. An autopsy has been completed regarding the incident that occurred in the home she shared with her husband, Stuart Claxton, but definitive findings regarding the cause of death have not yet been released.
According to Claxton's statement, he last saw his wife alive around 1:00 AM; he found her motionless in the bathroom 6-7 hours later. It was learned that CPR was performed during the initial intervention, but Burrell could not be revived.
