Syrian Rocket Lands In Water Off Northern Israel

24.11.2021 12:42

Syrian media say 2 civilians killed in Israeli airstrikes.

An anti-aircraft rocket fired from Syria landed in the sea off the shores of northern Israel, according to Israeli media on Wednesday.

The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation said the Syrian rocket passed the Israeli territory and exploded in the sea near Haifa area.

It said the incident took place during an attack believed to be carried out by the Israeli Air Force on Homs in western Syria.

On Wednesday, the Syrian regime news agency SANA reported the death of two civilians and seven others injured, including six Syrian soldiers, by "an Israeli air aggression" on central Syria.

SANA, citing a Syrian military source, said Syrian air defenses confronted the Israeli missiles and downed most of them.

The incident was the third reported in recent months. On Sept. 3, the Israeli army confirmed the launch of Syrian anti-aircraft missiles towards Israel, which were also reported to have exploded in the sea.

On April 22, the Israeli army said a surface-to-air rocket was fired from Syria and landed in the Negev area in southern Israel.

Israel usually doesn't announce its airstrikes on Syria. However, Israeli media reports claim Israeli attacks on positions of Iranians and Hezbollah group in Syria.
