The allegation that Mehmet Engin Tüter, the CHP Deputy Mayor of Manavgat, received a bribe of 110,000 Euros in a baklava box caused tension in the Üsküdar Municipal Council. An AK Party council member took the podium with a "Manavgat Baklava" box. As tensions escalated and council members confronted each other, a break was called in the session.

MENTIONED CORRUPTION INVESTIGATIONS AGAINST CHP MUNICIPALITIES

During the off-agenda speeches section of the council, AK Party Council Member Kemal Özer addressed the corruption investigations. Özer stated that the recent corruption and irregularities associated with CHP municipalities deeply saddened everyone, adding that the economic damage of the allegations also undermined the trust of the people.

WANTED TO OFFER BAKLAVA TO THE DEPUTY CHAIRMAN

Recalling the footage of the moments when Deputy Mayor Mehmet Engin Tüter received money in a baklava box during a bribery operation conducted against the Manavgat Municipality, Özer showed the baklava box he brought with him.

Continuing his remarks in response to the reactions, Özer said, "Friends, there is real baklava in this. There is no money, no Euro. You have placed something else in the agenda and vocabulary of our people. The price of Manavgat baklava is 110 thousand Euros per kilo. This nation will not forgive." At the end of his speech, Özer wanted to offer the baklava on the podium to Aral, who was presiding over the session.

Thanking him, Aral declined the baklava, stating, "The CHP will approach any negativity that undermines the understanding of social municipalism uncompromisingly. It is quite interesting to mention the events from three days ago when no corruption has been found against our İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu and other mayors for about 110 days."
