Tension rose in the Parliament! Minister Kurum pushed away the dirty water brought by the CHP deputy with the back of his hand.

In the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the 2025 budget of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and affiliated organizations was discussed. CHP Tekirdağ Deputy İlhami Özcan Aygun, who took the floor and came to the podium, drew attention to the pollution in Kazdağları and the Ergene River.

"I GOT IT WITH MY OWN HANDS"

Aygun showed a cone he brought from the trees in Kazdağları in one hand and a bottle filled with dirty water from the Ergene River in the other. Aygun reminded the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, of the jar filled with dirty water he brought from İzmir Bay during the Commission discussions of the budget, saying, "This is the Ergene River, my friends. I went and got this water from the Ergene River with my own hands on Saturday. I didn't have anyone bring it; I got it with my own hands. But do you know what happened? The ministry messed it up. You wasted resources. Now the Ministry of Agriculture continues to clean the Ergene River, but in my region, in Thrace, people are dying of cancer."

After finishing his speech, Aygun placed the cone and the bottle filled with dirty water on the table of Murat Kurum, who was sitting among the ministers in the TBMM.

Murat Kurum suddenly stood up and threw the cone and the bottle filled with dirty water on the table. After Kurum's action, tensions rose. When AK Party deputies also got involved in the discussion, TBMM Deputy Speaker Sırrı Süreyya Önder gave a 20-minute break to the General Assembly session of the TBMM after the tension that occurred.
