TRUCK DRIVER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
The accident occurred in the Yıldırım district during the afternoon hours. The trailer of the truck with license plate 06 AZB 72, driven by Muzaffer U., hit Yıldız Polat, who was walking on the sidewalk with her baby stroller, as the driver was making a turn from Şirinevler neighborhood onto Ankara Road Avenue. The unfortunate woman was trapped under the trailer, and police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification of bystanders. Heavily injured, Polat was taken to Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital after the initial intervention. Despite all the efforts of the doctors, the unfortunate woman could not be saved and lost her life, while truck driver Muzaffer U. was taken into custody and brought to the police station.
