FATAL END ON A DARK ROAD AT MIDNIGHT
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred around 01:00 AM at the Kaymakçı Neighborhood Junction in the Ödemiş district. A truck with license plate 42 ATF 792, driven by A.Ş. (34), which was traveling from the Kiraz district towards Ödemiş, struck 75-year-old Halil İbrahim Akın, who suddenly appeared on the dark, poorly lit road.
HIT BY A TRUCK, THEN RUN OVER BY A CAR
The unfortunate man, who was thrown meters away by the force of the impact and fell onto the road, was then run over by a car with license plate 35 AUY 58, driven by B.A. (48), traveling in the same direction. Following reports from other drivers in the area, gendarmerie and medical teams were swiftly dispatched to the accident scene. During the initial checks at the scene, medical personnel determined that Halil İbrahim Akın, who had sustained severe impacts, had lost his life.

Investigations after the accident brought a heartbreaking detail to light. It was understood that 75-year-old Halil İbrahim Akın, who was residing in the Çaylı Neighborhood, was an Alzheimer's patient and had lost his way during the night, walking alone on the dark road. The elderly man's lifeless body was taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy procedures following the work of the prosecutor's office and crime scene investigation teams.
DRIVERS IN CUSTODY
The truck driver A.Ş. and car driver B.A., who were involved in the tragic accident, were taken into custody by gendarmerie teams and brought to the police station. A comprehensive investigation into the incident is ongoing.
