It has been suggested that the TFF is preparing to reduce the obligation for young foreign players by making changes to the foreign player rule for the new season, following requests from clubs.
It has been claimed that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) is preparing to make changes to the foreign player rule ahead of the new season. After requests from clubs, the revision of the current regulation is on the agenda.
CLUBS' REQUESTS HAVE BEEN EFFECTIVE
According to the current rule, Super League teams can have 14 foreign players in their squads. There was a condition that 2 of these players must meet a certain age criterion. In the new season, it was planned to increase this number to 4 players.
NEW REGULATION ON THE WAY
According to a report by Sabah, the TFF has decided to change this decision by taking into account the requests of the clubs. Accordingly, it has been suggested that for the next season, the condition that only 2 of the 14 foreigners must be born on or after January 1, 2004 will be applied.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT EXPECTED
It has been stated that the TFF has made its final decision regarding the aforementioned change and that an official statement will be made shortly.
