In the sixth round of the prisoner exchange, Israeli male prisoners Alexander Sasha Troufanov, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and Yair Horn were delivered to Red Cross teams near the home of Hamas's deceased leader Yahya Sinwar in the city of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip.
It is known that Sagui Dekel-Chen holds dual citizenship of the USA and Israel, while Alexander Sasha Troufanov is a dual citizen of Russia and Israel.
With the release of the three Israeli prisoners in the sixth round, the total number of Israeli prisoners released from the Gaza Strip has risen to 19.
369 PALESTINIANS RELEASED
In exchange for the three released Israeli prisoners, 369 Palestinian prisoners were released today. The Palestinians were welcomed with great enthusiasm in Ramallah in the West Bank.
Of the 369 Palestinian prisoners, 36 had been sentenced to life imprisonment, while 333 were among those detained in the Gaza Strip after October 7, 2023.
KASSAM BRIGADES SEND MESSAGE TO US PRESIDENT TRUMP
In the sixth round of the prisoner exchange, Hamas's armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, sent a message against US President Donald Trump's plan to forcibly displace Palestinians in Gaza.
In the images displayed on the platform set up in Khan Younis, emphasis was placed on "resistance to liberate Palestine," along with the flags of some Arab states.
CEASEFIRE AND PRISONER EXCHANGE AGREEMENT
The ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement reached between Hamas and Israel came into effect on Sunday, January 19, at 12:15 PM Turkish time.
As part of the agreement, on Monday, January 27, the Netzarim Corridor was opened for the passage of Palestinians from south to north in the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli army withdrew from the Netzarim Corridor on February 9.
The Rafah Border Crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt was opened on February 1 for the evacuation of the sick and injured after the Israeli army's eight-month occupation.
In the first five rounds of the prisoner exchange, 766 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons and 16 Israelis and 5 Thais from Gaza were released.
According to the ceasefire agreement, which will consist of three phases, a total of over 1,900 Palestinian prisoners and 33 Israeli prisoners are expected to be released in the first phase, which will last 42 days.
