A sixth wave operation has been carried out in the 'bribery' investigation targeting the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Out of 20 suspects for whom detention orders were issued, 16 have been taken into custody. It has also been reported that police teams conducted a search at the Antalya Sports Club Association.

As part of the investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, regarding the allegations of corruption in excavation works, a detention order was issued for 20 suspects, including Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who is also in custody.
It has been learned that 16 of the suspects, including B.Ö., the operator of Antalyaspor Excavation Mining Industry, and businessman R.K., have been apprehended.

INVESTIGATION
In the "bribery" and "corruption" investigation coordinated by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Muhittin Böcek and his former daughter-in-law Zeynep K. were detained on July 5, while it was determined that Böcek's son, suspect Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, was abroad.
On the same day, Muhittin Böcek, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested, while his former daughter-in-law Zeynep K. was released under judicial control with a travel ban.
Following the decision, Muhittin Böcek was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior.
His daughter-in-law Zuhal Böcek, who returned from abroad, was also caught and arrested at the airport on July 27 on the charge of "money laundering from crime-related assets."
As part of the investigation, 17 people were detained in a simultaneous operation conducted on addresses identified on August 12; 2 of them were released after their procedures at the police, while 8 of the 15 suspects referred to the courthouse were arrested, 5 were released under judicial control, and 2 were released after their statements to the prosecutor's office.
It was alleged that A.A, B.Ç, M.Y., and Y.Y., who received contracts from the Metropolitan Municipality, paid a bribe of 195 million lira to Muhittin Böcek and his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek to receive their entitlement payments. A currency exchange office, where it was claimed that the bribe money was deposited, and 2 jewelers, where this money was allegedly converted into gold, were appointed a trustee.
Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, the son of Muhittin Böcek, was detained and arrested upon his arrival at Antalya Airport from Vienna on August 19.
In the continuation of the investigation, İlker Arslan, who was suspended from his position at the Antalya Police Department and surrendered after a detention order was issued against him, and businessman F.A. were also arrested on September 7.
In an operation conducted by police teams on September 10, among the 21 suspects detained, businessman Mehmet Emin Hesapçıoğlu, Kanal V television owner Mehmet Okan Kaya, former Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Tuncay Sarıhan, ANT Tepe's manager İsmail Erdoğmuş, and sales staff Levent Şapçıoğlu were arrested, while 3 people, including Böcek's former daughter-in-law Zeynep K., were released under judicial control.
Among the suspects benefiting from the remorse provisions, Hesapçıoğlu, Sarıhan, and Erdoğmuş were released on September 27.
