Two individuals arrived on a motorcycle and launched an attack with a long-barreled weapon at the Iraqi Consulate located in Şişli Esentepe. During the incident, 9 bullets hit the consulate building, but there were no injuries. The attack by the motorcyclists was linked to the Dalton crime organization. It was learned that the gang carried out the attack as retaliation for the recent capture of their organization leader, known as Timocan, in Iraq.
In the Esentepe neighborhood, two assailants arrived on a motorcycle in the evening and opened fire with a long-barreled weapon at the consulate building of Iraq. No one was injured in the attack. The assailants fled on the motorcycle they arrived on. The Dalton crime organization was behind this attack on the consulate.
9 EMPTY SHELLS FOUND
Upon receiving the tip-off, a large number of police teams were dispatched to the area. Police teams conducting a crime scene investigation around the consulate began efforts to capture the assailants. After the attack, street entrances and exits were closed, and during the investigation, 9 empty shells were seized. Police teams began examining the security camera footage of the consulate and surrounding buildings. The Organized Crime Fighting Branch teams are continuing their work related to the incident.

Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen, who came to the scene for inspections, stated, "We conveyed our get well soon wishes. We stand by the Iraqi state."
"THEY FIRED IN QUICK SUCCESSION"
Ilhan Dilber, a taxi driver at the nearby stop, said, "While sitting at the taxi stand, we heard gunshots. When we heard the sounds, we went outside. We realized there was an incident near the consulate. By the time we got there, the assailants had fled. They fired in quick succession; it seemed to me like a magazine was emptied."

RETALIATION FOR TIMOCAN'S ARREST
It has been determined that the gang carried out the attack as retaliation for the arrest of gang leader Ahmet Mustafa Timo, who was captured by MIT in Iraq a few days ago.
THREATS FOLLOWING THE ATTACK
Baran Yıkılmaz, one of the gang members, threatened on social media, "Let the dishonorable Iraqi government and other dishonorable security units know that without a red notice decision, unlawfully and for money, selling our brother to MIT forces, from this moment on, no one will be able to extinguish this fire. Everyone will learn what we have sacrificed for each other."
