The assassination attempt on scientists was captured on cameras second by second.

A couple of academics working at İnönü University in Malatya, who developed a composite material to protect aircraft from laser weapons, were forced to stop their vehicle by colliding with it in traffic and then attempted to attack them. Two of the four people were caught as a result of the dedicated work of the police teams.

The incident took place in the Yakınca area of Malatya- Yeşilyurt district. According to the information obtained, a car traveling in the same direction collided with the vehicle of Chemical Engineer Dr. Yeliz Toptaş and Research Assistant Murat Toptaş from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at İnönü University, forcing the couple to stop. After the collision, the four suspects who told the couple to pull over walked towards them.

THEY ESCAPED AFTER REQUESTING IDENTIFICATION

Meanwhile, the police teams passing by the scene quickly intervened. Two of the suspects escaped from the scene. The traffic team that intervened in the incident wanted to check the identification of the other two suspects. The images of the suspects who escaped by getting into their vehicles after the police requested identification were captured by the car camera.

ONE OF THE SUSPECTS TURNED OUT TO BE A FORMER SOLDIER

After an hour of persistent pursuit by the police teams, it was determined that one of the two suspects, who were caught within the boundaries of Doğanşehir district, had a large number of criminal records and was also wanted, while the other suspect was identified as a former soldier discharged from the Gendarmerie.

The academic couple filed a complaint against the suspects at the police station, and the person with multiple criminal records and wanted warrants was arrested. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
