49-year-old Selahattin Atlı, who was playing a football match on a turf field in Kahramanmaraş, suffered a cardiac arrest after being hit in the chest by the ball. Atlı collapsed shortly after being struck and passed away at the hospital where he was taken.
A heartbreaking incident occurred during a football match played yesterday evening at a small football field located in the Boğaziçi neighborhood of the Onikişubat district in Kahramanmaraş.
THE BALL HIT HIS CHEST, HIS HEART STOPPED
Selahittin Atlı (49), who was playing a match with his friends and standing in goal, was hit in the chest by a football. In the incident captured by the security camera, his friends rushed to help Selahittin Atlı, who collapsed to the ground. Health teams were dispatched to the small football field upon notification. During the checks, it was determined that Atlı's heart had stopped, but it was restarted with the intervention of the teams.
DIED IN THE HOSPITAL
Atlı, who was immediately placed on a stretcher and transported to the ambulance, continued to receive CPR from a health worker during this time. Despite all the interventions by the doctors at the hospital he was taken to, Selahittin Atlı could not be saved.
