The finalist of the beauty contest held in Basel, Switzerland, Kristina Joksimovic, was killed by her husband Thomas. Thomas' request for release was denied.

In February 2024, Thomas, the husband of Joksimovic, a beauty pageant finalist who was killed in the Binningen district of Basel, Switzerland, requested to be released after admitting to killing his wife, but this request was rejected by the Swiss Federal Supreme Court. According to the news in the Swiss media, Thomas dismembered his wife's body with a saw, knife, and garden shears after killing her, and then blended the pieces. Thomas later dissolved these pieces with chemicals.

CLAIM OF SELF-DEFENSE

In a news report from the Swiss media BZ Basel, it was announced that Thomas claimed to have killed his wife in self-defense, stating that she attacked him with a knife. The court ruled that Joksimovic was killed by suffocation. It was also reported that in his initial statement to the police, Thomas said he found Joksimovic "dead" and admitted to panicking and dismembering the body.

Joksimovic, who worked as a model and was a finalist in a beauty pageant held in Switzerland, married Thomas in 2017.
