The Ministry of Trade has expanded its oversight to include social media against unverified real estate and vehicle listings; administrative penalties will be imposed on those who do not comply with the rules.

The Ministry of Trade has expanded the scope of the verified advertisement regulation to include real estate and vehicle advertisements published on social media platforms. Administrative sanctions have begun to be imposed for advertisements that violate the rules.

The Ministry is continuing its efforts to prevent fraud cases in real estate and vehicle advertisements, as well as to block fake advertisements and speculative price increases. In this context, a requirement for identity and authority verification has been introduced for advertisement platforms on the internet.

MANDATORY E-ADS VERIFICATION SYSTEM INTRODUCED

Identity and authority verification through the Electronic Advertisement Verification System (E-ADS) has become mandatory for all real estate and vehicle advertisements. Advertisement platforms are integrated into the system, and a verification requirement has been established for the published advertisements.

According to the new regulation, advertisements can only be submitted by the property or vehicle owner, their first and second-degree relatives, or authorized real estate and gallery businesses with documentation through e-Government.

MONITORING OF SOCIAL MEDIA INCLUDED

The regulation covers all electronic environments, including social media. While the Ministry closely monitors advertisements published in these areas, it imposes administrative sanctions for shares that violate E-ADS rules.

Real estate and gallery businesses are only allowed to share links to advertisements verified through E-ADS on their social media accounts. In addition, they must avoid posts that qualify as advertisements.

WARNING TO CITIZENS

The Ministry has also warned consumers, emphasizing that unverified advertisements should not be trusted. A call has been made to be particularly cautious against fake advertisements and deposit fraud.
