A university student with an egg allergy, Remziye Horuz, passed away after eating a cake purchased by her friends for her birthday in Ağrı. The employees of the bakery, Y.A., F.Y., and F.Y., who were supposed to prepare a cake without eggs, have been arrested.

A university student with an egg allergy, Remziye Horuz (25), passed away after suffering an allergic reaction following the consumption of a cake bought by her friends for her birthday in Ağrı.

On December 2, her friends at the Abdurrahim Arvasi Girls' Dormitory wanted to surprise Horuz for her birthday. Allegedly, two students who went to a bakery in the city center informed the staff about their friend's egg allergy and ordered a cake that did not contain eggs. After celebrating their friend's birthday with the cake, the students noticed that Horuz had fallen ill. She was taken to Ağrı Education and Research Hospital and was admitted to intensive care that same night. Despite the interventions, Remziye Horuz lost her battle for life in the intensive care unit.

3 SUSPECTS ARRESTED

As part of the investigation conducted by the Ağrı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Y.A. (41), F.Y. (32), and F.Y. (39), who worked at the bakery, were taken into custody. After their procedures at the police station, the three suspects were referred to the courthouse and were arrested by the judge. It was learned that they were handed over to the Laboratory of the Directorate.

REMZIYE WILL BE BURIED IN ŞANLIURFA

The young student's body was sent to her hometown of Şanlıurfa for burial after the procedures at the hospital.

CAKE SENT FOR EXAMINATION

As part of the investigation, it was learned that a sample of the cake taken on the day of the incident was sent to the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Agriculture Laboratory to determine whether it contained egg components, and the results of the examination would be added to the case file. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
