An automobile in the Erdemli district of Mersin, whose driver lost control of the steering wheel, hit a woman walking on the sidewalk, resulting in her death. The car, which was able to stop after hitting a trash container and the median, was captured moment by moment by security cameras during the accident.

The accident occurred on the Mersin-Antalya D-400 highway within the borders of Limonlu neighborhood in Erdemli district. According to the information received, the Volkswagen Polo with license plate 06 EKS 479, driven by E.Ç., swerved on the road after the driver lost control and hit Emel Özdemir, who was walking as a pedestrian on the sidewalk, and then entered a rest area, hitting trash containers and the median before coming to a stop.

Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams determined that Özdemir, who was hit by the vehicle, had lost her life. Özdemir's lifeless body was taken to the hospital morgue by a funeral vehicle after the examination at the scene, while the driver E.Ç. was taken into custody.
