The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced its final interest rate decision of the year. The CBRT reduced the policy rate, which is the one-week repo auction rate, by 150 basis points to 38%.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced its last interest rate decision of the year today. The Central Bank reduced the interest rate from 39.5% to 38%.
INTEREST RATE, WHICH WAS 47.5% AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, DROPPED TO 38% IN DECEMBER
The Central Bank had lowered the interest rate from 47.5% to 45% on January 23, 2025. On March 6, 2025, the interest rate decreased from 45% to 42.50%, and on April 17, 2025, it was raised from 42.5% to 46% with an interim decision. In the interest rate meeting held on June 19, 2025, there was no change, and the interest rate remained stable at 46%. On July 24, 2025, the interest rate dropped from 46% to 43%. On September 11, 2025, the interest rate fell from 43% to 40.50%. On October 23, 2025, the interest rate was reduced from 40.50% to 39.50%.
