In the drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy was arrested. The prosecutor's office claimed that Ersoy and other suspects provided a place and means for drug use in their residences, supplied drugs to women, and gained sectoral and financial benefits through these individuals. Following these shocking allegations, everyone commented "You must have had a donation" under the photo of Ersoy's ex-wife, Pınar Erbaş.
Journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy and three others, who were detained as part of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's "drug" investigation, were arrested by the on-duty magistrate court to which they were referred.
Ersoy was detained by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams two days ago on charges of "purchasing, using, and possessing narcotic substances, and providing a place and means for their use." Following the operation, Habertürk television announced that Mehmet Akif Ersoy had been suspended from his position as Editor-in-Chief "for the integrity of the ongoing investigation."
ALLEGATION OF DISTORTED RELATIONSHIP IN THE PROSECUTOR'S REQUEST
In the detention request, the prosecutor claimed that "the suspects provided a place and means for the use of narcotic substances in their own residences, supplied narcotic substances to women who came to the house, and that Mehmet Akif Ersoy benefited sectorally and materially by engaging women with individuals around him." The other individuals arrested along with Ersoy were Mustafa Manaz, Ufuk Tetik, and Ebru Gülan.
COMMENT FLOOD ON PINAR ERBAŞ
After the arrest, revelations followed one after another, leading to a flood of messages to Pınar Erbaş, who was briefly married to Mehmet Akif Ersoy and later divorced. Show Main News anchor Pınar Erbaş received numerous comments under her photos, with everyone making the same remark. Comments such as "You must have had a donation" flooded in for Pınar Erbaş.
WHO IS MEHMET AKİF ERSOY?
Mehmet Akif Ersoy, a graduate of the Public Relations Department of Istanbul University Faculty of Communication, started his journalism career in 2009 at "6 News" television. Ersoy held various positions at TRT. Working at Habertürk since 2017, Ersoy was most recently presenting the main news bulletin.
