WHAT HAPPENED?
The TBMM General Secretariat took action following allegations of "abuse" against an intern student working at the Assembly. The family of the student, who is interning during the 2024-2025 academic year, officially filed a complaint with the General Secretariat on November 19, 2025.
INVESTIGATION INITIATED THE SAME DAY
In a statement, it was noted that an administrative investigation was promptly initiated on November 20, following the receipt of the complaint. It was emphasized that the TBMM administration is conducting the process "meticulously."
ONE STAFF MEMBER REMOVED FROM DUTY
The first step was taken within the scope of the investigation. The statement reported that a public employee working as a cook was suspended from duty on December 4, 2025. The investigation regarding other individuals is ongoing.
SCOPE IS BEING EXPANDED, DISCIPLINARY PROCESS WILL BE INITIATED
The Assembly administration announced that the investigation is expected to be completed by December 12, 2025. It was stated that as a result of the investigation, disciplinary sanctions ranging from dismissal from public service could be applied to those involved. The TBMM General Secretariat announced that all findings arising during the investigation process would be shared with judicial authorities.
