President's Chief Advisor Oktay Saral reacted to Özgür Özel's "junta" remarks at the CHP's 21st Extraordinary Congress. Saral stated, "This indecency will not go unpunished. You will have to swallow these words one by one. These statements are an insult not only to our esteemed President but also to the Turkish nation. You will be held accountable!"

Özgür Özel was re-elected as the chairman of the CHP at the party's 21st Extraordinary Congress. Oktay Saral, the Chief Advisor to the President, reacted strongly to Özel's remarks during his speech at the congress, where he used the term "Junta".

"YOU WILL SWALLOW YOUR WORDS ONE BY ONE"

In a post on his official X account, Oktay Saral stated: "Recently, Özgür Özel, who insulted our President and his family in Saraçhane and then took a fake step back, is now using the words 'the head of a junta that has lost its legitimacy' against the President elected by the people. This rudeness will not go unpunished. You will swallow your words one by one. These statements are an insult not only to our President but also to the Turkish nation. You will pay the price!"

WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY?

In his speech at the congress, Özgür Özel stated: "Today, there is again a balance situation in Turkey that the nation will resolve. The coup plotters, those who planned the coup, are currently trapped in the palace and the offices of state institutions due to the results of the previous election, but the streets belong to the will of the people, and they are with us. That junta is holding our friends captive. Today, Turkey is governed by a junta that fears elections, fears its opponent, and fears the nation. Tayyip Erdoğan has turned from a president who has the support of the people into a junta leader who targets those who have the support of the people as potential rivals. He no longer has legitimacy; he fears elections and the streets. The will in this hall today is the will that will dismantle that junta. Turkey is bigger than a handful of junta members.
