The lawyers of Narin Güran's family submitted a report prepared by a forensic computer engineer regarding the phone images of the suspects, mother Yüksel, brother Enes, and uncle Salim Güran, as well as Nevzat Bahtiyar, to the 1st Criminal Chamber of the Diyarbakır Regional Court of Appeals.
The lawyers of Narin Güran's family held a press conference regarding the report prepared by the forensic computer engineer about the phone images of the 4 suspects. Lawyer Mahir Akbilek, speaking about the report that includes the findings of the forensic computer engineer, the narrowed base study in the case file, and the evaluations of the National Criminal Bureau's report, stated that the appeal process regarding the local court's decision in the Narin Güran murder case is ongoing.

Expressing that their expectation is to clarify the incident with evidence, Akbilek said, "The work we have done to access the data obtained from the suspects' phone images and to convert it into understandable text and graphics by expert forensic specialists has been completed to assist in reaching the truth."
"NEVZAT BAHTIYAR'S STATEMENTS DO NOT ALIGN WITH THE TRUTH"
Lawyer Yılmaz Demiroğlu stated that an expert examination was conducted on the phone image records of the suspects with the aim of reaching the truth and justice, and a report was prepared.
Demiroğlu said, "According to the results we obtained and our interpretations, we have concluded that the statements made by Nevzat Bahtiyar do not align with the truth and that his defense has collapsed. We obtained an expert report from one of Turkey's most competent experts regarding the narrowed base report, which was partially relied upon in the first-instance court's decision. The report concluded that even in real-time tracking, where pinpoint detection is not possible, there could be an error margin of 500 meters to 2 kilometers, and that such location detection is not feasible. We will fight to clarify the incident."
APPLICATION FOR RELEASE WILL BE MADE
Demiroğlu stated that they will apply for the release of their clients by evaluating their detention.

In the Narin Güran murder case, the court panel decided on December 28, 2024, to sentence the detained suspects, mother Yüksel, brother Enes, and uncle Salim Güran, to aggravated life imprisonment for "intentional murder of a child in complicity," and Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to hiding Narin's lifeless body in the Eğertutmaz Stream, to 4 years and 6 months in prison for "destroying, concealing, or altering evidence," and decided to continue their detention.
