A 13-year-old child, who was trying to cross the road in Antalya, lost his life after being hit by a light commercial vehicle. Emirhan S.'s shoes remained on the sidewalk, and the accident was captured on security camera.
A light commercial vehicle struck 13-year-old Emirhan S., who was trying to cross the road in Antalya's Kepez district. The child lost his life, and the accident was captured on security camera.
The accident occurred around 13:00 on Aspendos Boulevard in the Kızıltoprak neighborhood of Kepez district, towards the city center. The light commercial vehicle with license plate (19) 07 AZH 25, driven by Abdullah K. (age 19), struck the child who was attempting to cross to the tram stop on the opposite side of the road. The child was thrown approximately 30 meters by the force of the impact and suffered severe injuries. Upon notification from witnesses, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. A check by health teams determined that the child had died, and a city bus card issued in the name of 'Emirhan S.' was found on him. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and the driver, Abdullah K., has been taken into custody.
"HE WAS GOING FAST"
Ahmet Yıldız, a witness to the accident, stated that the child was trying to cross at a pedestrian crossing, saying, "He was probably heading to the tram stop. At that moment, the white vehicle tried to go through the lights. He was probably trying to catch the green light. He was going fast, coming from the left lane. He hit the child from the right side and threw him."

Meanwhile, the accident was captured on the security camera of a nearby business. The footage shows the child being thrown several meters after being hit by the light commercial vehicle while moving to cross the road.
