A 11-year-old boy, Ravan El Cemili, died after the rope of the swing got tangled around his neck while swinging in Kayseri. The incident occurred yesterday evening in the basement of a 2-story apartment building on Alımlı Street in Selçuklu neighborhood of Melikgazi district. Ravan El Cemili, a Syrian national, was swinging in front of the house while his mother was cooking in the kitchen when the swing rope got tangled around his neck for unknown reasons. His family noticed the situation and untangled the rope from El Cemili's neck. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. El Cemili was taken to Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, but despite the intervention, he could not be saved. STATEMENTS OF 3 INDIVIDUALS TAKENThe lifeless body of Ravan El Cemili, who was taken to Kayseri State Hospital morgue, was handed over to his family after the autopsy procedures. Funeral prayer for El Cemili was performed at Hulusi Akar Mosque. After the funeral prayer, Ravan El Cemili was buried in Erkilet Bülbül Pınarı Cemetery. As part of the investigation conducted by Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, statements of El Cemili's mother, father, and aunt were taken. While the 3 individuals were released after their statements, the investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
