The CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Manisa Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay have been accused of an illicit affair. In a statement regarding the allegation, Durbay firmly denied the claims that she had a relationship with Özel and that she had an abortion. While the topic remains hot in the agenda, a comment also came from MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. "WE ARE AGAINST DISGRACEFUL MOVES"Speaking in the party group, Bahçeli stated, "The allegations regarding Özgür's private life cannot be the subject of our politics. We are completely against FETÖ tactics and disgraceful moves. We are concerned with CHP politics. Whatever is said beyond this, we have closed our ears to it. Below-the-belt hits and unreasonable proofs are of no use to us nor do they enter our agenda. Black campaigns and ugly rumors are beneath us and are null and void for us. Any other interpretation is nonsensical. Özgür's attack on MHP and his deviation from politics is a level of baseness that is incompatible with fairness. We strive to do politics properly," he expressed. "ÖZGÜR BEY IS MISTAKEN AGAIN"Continuing his remarks, Bahçeli responded to Özgür Özel, who criticized them through his handshake with DEM Party members, saying, "Özgür bey, who links our handshake to normalization, is mistaken again. We must focus on the big picture. We have no land disputes with anyone. There is no longer any aspect of hot developments that can be taken lightly or set aside. Because our Turkey is surrounded by abnormal threats from outside its borders. If we get caught up in petty disputes, what will we do on the day of reckoning? Will we say we were helpless and bowed our heads? Will we say we surrendered to daily concerns?" he stated.
