The Ankara 42nd Criminal Court of First Instance has postponed the next hearing of the case regarding the annulment of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress to September 15, at the request of the CHP's lawyer, moving it from September 8.
The Ankara 42nd Criminal Court of First Instance has postponed the next hearing of the CHP's convention case from September 8 to September 15.
After Özgür Özel was elected as the party leader at the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention, some delegates and Lütfü Savaş filed a lawsuit alleging irregularities. The lawsuit demands the annulment of the convention, the removal of Özel from his position, and the reinstatement of Kılıçdaroğlu. The extraordinary convention organized by Özgür Özel on April 6 was also added to the case.
CHP'S CONVENTION CASE POSTPONED FOR 1 WEEK
A new development has occurred regarding the case. The Ankara 42nd Criminal Court of First Instance has moved the next hearing of the case to September 15 at the request of the CHP's lawyer.
FROM THE INDICTMENT
In the indictment prepared by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it is requested that Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was removed from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul after being arrested as part of a corruption investigation, along with Baki Aydöner, Cemil Tugay, Erkan Aydın, Hüseyin Yaşar, Mehmet Kılınçarslan, Metin Güzelkaya, Nihat Yeşiltaş, Özgen Nama, Özgür Çelik, Rıza Akpolat, and Serhat Can, be sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 1 to 3 years for the crime of "manipulating the vote" as stated in Article 112 of the Political Parties Law.
