The incident occurred on the evening of September 18 at the Karadeniz Ereğli Intercity Bus Terminal. Gülüç Mayor Gökhan Mustafa Demirtaş arrived at the terminal with his son N.D. and suspects, including municipal personnel. Here, he allegedly assaulted Abdurrahman G. (19) and his father Oğuz G. (49), with whom he had a previous feud. During this time, the terminal's security personnel also reported the situation to the teams.

The father and son, who were injured in the assault, were taken to the hospital by ambulance after initial interventions.
