The incident of a father being assaulted in front of his two small children while traveling on the Marmaray has become a major topic of discussion across Turkey. As reactions and anger towards the attackers grew like an avalanche, it was claimed that Sedat Peker reached out to the assaulted father and provided 2.5 million TL in financial support to help the family acquire a vehicle, so they would not have to use public transportation again.
A father, D.E., traveling on Marmaray with his two children, was attacked by two male passengers during an argument with a woman over a seat. D.E., whose nose was broken, got off at Yalı Mahallesi Süreyya Plajı Train Station with his two children. As the parties fought again at the station, security personnel intervened while other passengers tried to calm the frightened children. The argument and fight were recorded by a passenger's mobile phone camera.
SEDAT PEKER COULD NOT REMAIN INDIFFERENT
Many users reacted strongly to the incident after the images spread rapidly on social media. The fact that the violence occurred in front of the children resonated deeply in the public. While the echoes of the incident continued, it was noteworthy that Sedat Peker also reposted a statement regarding the issue on his social media account.
"WE WILL MEET"
In the statement that Peker reposted, the following expressions were included: "After a punch thrown at a father next to a girl in Marmaray in Maltepe, Istanbul, Sedat Peker's words came back to the agenda: If they torture my male children, I would say; life is toughening them. But it cannot happen to my daughters… We will meet."
CLAIM THAT "HE GAVE 2.5 MILLION TL TO BUY A CAR FOR THE FATHER"
On the other hand, it was claimed that Sedat Peker reached out to the attacked father D.E. and provided assistance of 2.5 million TL for him to 'buy a car'. It was seen that Peker again reposted a statement regarding this claim on his social media account.
