Cold weather affecting a large part of the country will continue. The meteorology department issued a "yellow" coded snowfall and strong storm warning for 21 provinces. In the new week, sunny weather will prevail.
According to the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, rain is expected primarily in the Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions, as well as in the eastern Marmara, the inland areas of the Western Mediterranean, the northern and eastern parts of Central Anatolia, the eastern sections of Southeastern Anatolia, and around Denizli. It is predicted that the rainfall will be heavy along the Black Sea coasts and in the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia. Rain and showers will be seen in coastal areas, while mixed rain and snow will be effective in inland and high-altitude areas.
YELLOW CODE WARNING FOR 21 PROVINCES
Meteorology has issued a yellow code warning for Adana, Ağrı, Artvin, Diyarbakır, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Hakkari, Mersin, Kars, Kahramanmaraş, Ordu, Rize, Samsun, Siirt, Tokat, Trabzon, Van, Batman, Şırnak, Ardahan, and Iğdır. It was stated that rainfall will be seen in the form of heavy snow in some areas along the Black Sea coasts, the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, and around Tokat.
BEWARE OF AVALANCHE RISK
In the inland areas of the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia, there is a continuing avalanche risk in sloped terrains with a high snow cover. Authorities have warned citizens living in high-altitude areas to be cautious.
WIND WILL REACH 70 KILOMETERS
Strong winds and short-term storms are expected to occur in the southern Aegean coast, the Mediterranean, the southern and eastern parts of Central Anatolia, and the coasts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea. Due to winds that may reach 70 kilometers per hour, disruptions in transportation are anticipated.
RAIN ON THE WEEKEND, SUNSHINE IN THE NEW WEEK
It is predicted that rainfall will continue in the inland, northern, and eastern parts on Saturday; on Sunday, it will be effective along the Eastern Black Sea coasts and around Kars, Ardahan, and Iğdır. With the new week, sunny weather will dominate the country. On Monday, it is expected that the temperature will rise to 13 degrees in Istanbul, 17 degrees in Izmir, and 10 degrees in Ankara.
