The brother of the informant in the Narin Güran murder case recounted that his brother said, "If I didn't take care of this funeral, this man would have destroyed my family," claiming that his brother was being threatened. The informant's brother used the statement, "My brother doesn't need money, he earns more than 300 thousand a month, what could he possibly need?"

The brother of Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to burying the body of 8-year-old Narin Güran in a stream 19 days after she went missing in Diyarbakır, made a striking statement.

"I WAS SCARED WHEN I SAW THE BODY"

Describing the dialogue between him and his brother, he said, "I told my brother to tell me the truth. And my brother said to me, 'I was coming from upstairs, the muhtar (village head) stopped me. The muhtar asked me if there was a sack in my car. I thought he needed it for agricultural work. Then I saw the body and got scared, I pulled myself back. The muhtar said to me, 'I'll give you 200 thousand lira. Think about your family, take this body away from here.' If I didn't take this body away, this man would have destroyed my family,'" he said.

"HE EARNS MORE THAN 300 THOUSAND LIRA PER MONTH"

In his further statement, the brother stated that his brother did not need money. "He said that he went to the police station and gave a statement. My brother doesn't need money, he earns more than 300 thousand lira per month. What could he possibly need? We were like a family with the muhtar, especially my brother and the muhtar were like brothers. My brother is guilty because he took the body to the stream," he said.
