As the investigation into the murder of Narin Güran expands, chilling details from the suspects' testimonies are being leaked to the public. Official statement regarding the latest developments in the investigation came from Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç. Tunç announced that after 19 days of intensive searches, Narin's lifeless body was found in the riverbed 1.5 km away from the village in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, and the investigation is continuing with 24 people in custody. Tunç made the following statement to the press: "Within 19 days, statements were taken from 276 individuals. A DNA test was conducted with her brother, which showed no match with Narin; however, it was determined that there was a match between Narin's DNA and the DNA found on the driver's seat of her uncle's car, leading to the arrest and detention. We witnessed the brutal murder. The evidence has been sent to the Diyarbakır and Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institutes for examination. 23 more individuals have been taken into custody as suspects. The statement of one more person was taken during the night (the previous day)." "THE MUKHTAR GAVE ME THE BODY IN A SACK"The first confession regarding Narin's murder came from the 24th suspect who was taken into custody. N.B., who was arrested after being identified as the person who went to the riverbank with his car, said during interrogation, "The mukhtar gave me the body in a sack. I took the sack and brought it to the river." In his statement, N.B., who works as a plasterer in the village, said the following: "Salim Güran made a sign to me while we were driving, so I stopped. He showed me something wrapped in a blanket on the front seat of his car and said, 'You will destroy this.' I approached what he showed me and saw that it was an motionless person. I was shocked and hesitated. "HE OFFERED ME 200,000 TL"Salim Güran said to me, 'Think about your family, I will give you 200,000 TL.' The mukhtar asked me if I had a bag in my car. I brought a sack from my trunk. We took the child wrapped in a blanket and put it in the sack together. I put the sack in my car and then the mukhtar pointed to the river. I drove my car to the riverbank. I looked for a string to tie the sack. Then I started to tie the mouth of the sack by removing the string from the bag inside. When I got home, there was a lot of activity in the village. My own mother and wife had gone out to search for Narin Güran. I prayed at home and then joined the search for Narin without eating." "HE WOULDN'T HAVE TOLD ME TO GET RID OF HER IF HE DIDN'T KILL HER"When asked in his statement, "Did Salim Güran kill Narin, and if he did, why did he kill her?" N.B. replied, "If Salim Güran hadn't killed her himself, he wouldn't have brought her to me and told me to 'get rid of her.' I don't know why he might have killed her. I learned from TikTok that he said to Arif Güran, 'I will make you suffer so much that you will never forget.' This is how people were talking about it in the village." "I DIDN'T WITNESS HIS INFIDELITY"When asked by the gendarmerie, "What is your level of friendship with Salim Güran? Did he talk about his private life with you? Did you witness any romantic relationship other than his wife?" the informant replied, "We sometimes had tea together, we would go to Diyarbakır. He didn't tell me about any infidelity. I didn't witness anything like that either." "YÜKSEL AND ENES WEREN'T THERE"Again, when asked by the gendarmerie, "Were Yüksel or Enes, Narin Güran's mother or brother, with you when you took the body?" N.B. replied, "Yüksel and Enes weren't there. I didn't witness them talking afterwards." After the suspect's confessions, there were tense moments in the village. The authorities conducted an on-site investigation with the informant N.B. where the body was found. THE INFORMANT'S SON: "WE ARE IN SHOCK, WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY"F.B., the son of N.B. who confessed to burying Narin, spoke to Milliyet. F.B. said the following: "Until now, we never suspected anything from my father's actions. My father participated in the searches, and we searched for Narin together with the family for days. We are in shock, we don't know what to say. There was never a conversation about Narin among us at home because we were always involved in the searches. Everyone in my family searched for Narin for days, thinking 'Where is this girl, what happened to her?' That's why we didn't have a chance to talk to my father. We didn't even think about anyone doing something like this, we thought she was kidnapped. I don't want to believe that my father did such a thing, and if he did, I can't say anything anymore. I won't call that person 'father' anymore. We are six siblings, and we don't want to believe that our father did this. The village has about 100 households. Narin's family was also engaged in farming. We never heard of a suicide incident, if there was such a thing, we would have heard about it."
