Acun Ilıcalı, a former executive of Fenerbahçe, achieved the result he sought in the lawsuit he filed regarding the VIP box that President Aziz Yıldırım had taken back at the beginning of the season. The court ruled that the box be returned to Ilıcalı and that its sale or transfer to third parties be prevented by an interim injunction until the end of the 2026-2027 football season.
At Fenerbahçe, a notable development regarding a luxury box occurred at the start of the season. In line with the decision made by President Aziz Yıldırım, the luxury box belonging to former executive Acun Ilıcalı was taken back. Following this development, Ilıcalı took the matter to court and filed a lawsuit for the return of his luxury box.
COURT RULES IN ILICALI'S FAVOR
As a result of the evaluation, the court ruled that the luxury box should be returned to Acun Ilıcalı. Additionally, the sale or transfer of the luxury box to third parties until the end of the 2026-2027 football season was prevented through an interim injunction. Following the decision, Acun Ilıcalı regained the right to use his luxury box.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
After being elected as the President of Fenerbahçe, Aziz Yıldırım had initiated a review of the rental fees for the luxury boxes at Chobani Stadium. Following the inspections, it was reported that there were significant differences between the fees of some luxury boxes, and Acun Ilıcalı's luxury box, located in the exact middle of the field, was cancelled. The management had decided to turn this luxury box into the "Fenerbahçe Presidential Box" and, from then on, allocate it to the serving Fenerbahçe president, provided that the fee was paid. Acun Ilıcalı had also confirmed at that time that his luxury box had been taken away.
