During the "fire ring dance" performance in China, a female artist transformed into a human torch when her costume caught fire. In a surprising turn of events, the dancer miraculously escaped the flames by jumping into the water.

Stage performances that combine traditional shows with dangerous acrobatic moves can sometimes turn into a life-and-death struggle in seconds. During a night show held at a wildlife park in Nantong, located in Jiangsu province in eastern China, the audience witnessed real horror instead of an aesthetic dance. A female artist performing the "fire hoop dance" suddenly became a "human torch" when her costume caught fire in an instant.

The incident occurred during a popular outdoor show held every evening at Nantong Forest Safari Park. The dancer, who took the stage, was wearing a long red dress for both an aesthetic and risky choreography. Starting her dance with a burning fire hoop attached to the hem of her dress, the woman was kneeling on the sand, gracefully moving her arms.

However, during the turning move, which was planned as the most impressive moment of the show, the flammable mechanism at the hem of the dress malfunctioned and did not detach. Flames quickly began to rise, aided by the wind. In seconds, the woman's entire body and her exposed hair were engulfed in flames.

In footage that surfaced on social media, the dancer is seen standing up in flames and running quickly on the beach in a panic. Amid the screams of the surrounding audience, the dancer, who ran several meters, dashed towards the Yangtze River right next to the park to save her life.

As flames completely engulfed her body, the woman threw herself into the water, thus escaping from burning. Eyewitnesses stated that the woman stayed in the water for several minutes to ensure that the flames were completely extinguished. After the incident, the dancer was quickly taken to the hospital, and it was reported that her overall condition was good and that she miraculously had no life-threatening injuries.

Officials from the safari park announced immediately after the incident that the shows had been suspended indefinitely. It was stated that the mechanisms and occupational safety procedures used in high-risk performances like the "fire dance" would be reviewed.

Local authorities launched a wide-ranging investigation to determine whether the park had provided the necessary fire extinguishing equipment and safety measures for such performances.
