Attendees at a funeral in Detroit, America were taken aback when money suddenly began to rain down from the sky.

The last wish of a 58-year-old man named Darrell Thomas, who passed away due to Alzheimer's disease, was to have money rain down on the people attending his funeral. Thomas's family fulfilled this wish.

During the funeral, a helicopter dropped approximately $5,000 (around 160,000 TL) in cash and rose petals over the ceremony area. The hundreds of flying dollar bills captured the attention of the attendees and created emotional moments.

In the footage, a child can be heard shouting, "I want to get some of that money!" while other people excitedly moved to catch the bills. Some individuals simply watched the sky, enjoying this extraordinary moment.

The ceremony took place in East Detroit, where Darrell Thomas owned an auto repair shop. Even passing drivers pulled over to the side of the road to join in this surprise "money rain."

Police teams stated that they were only informed that rose petals would be thrown and were unaware that money would also be dropped. However, no disturbances occurred.

Darrell's son Smoke explained his father's last wish to the local press:

"My dad helped people throughout his life. Everyone in the community knew and loved him. His last wish was to do this kindness one more time before he passed away. That money was his final gift to the people."

His niece Crystal Perry mentioned that Smoke added some of his own money to the amount.

Lisa Knife, one of the workers at the funeral, said, "Everyone took a little, and no one fought. Everything was very calm and beautiful."

A similar incident occurred last year at a wedding. In Pakistan, a father had money dropped from the sky onto guests during his son's wedding using a private plane. Those images had also garnered a lot of attention on social media.
