HOSTAGE CRISIS IN SCHOOL YARD
The incident occurred yesterday around 10:00 AM at Izmit Başöğretmen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School located on Kızılay Street in Yahya Kaptan Neighborhood. According to allegations, U.C.A., who is accused of threatening and blackmailing high school student A.Y., came to the school where the young girl was studying.
INFORMED HER FATHER
Seeing U.C.A. in front of the school, A.Y. told her father H.Y. about the fear she experienced. Upon this, the father came to the school and took U.C.A. hostage with a gun in the schoolyard. The father made the suspect kneel and laid the young man face down on the ground.
POLICE INTERVENED, MOMENTS RECORDED
The incident caused great panic at the school, and numerous police teams were dispatched to the school upon notification. With the intervention of the teams, H.Y. was neutralized and taken into custody. The events that occurred during the incident were recorded by a mobile phone camera.

In the statements taken as part of the investigation, A.Y. stated that U.C.A. had been threatening and blackmailing her for a long time and that she presented the messages to the police. The young girl claimed that she received a death threat the night before.

SUSPECT ARRESTED, FATHER RELEASED
After the procedures at the police station, U.C.A., one of the suspects sent to the courthouse, was arrested on charges of 'threat' after a gun was found on him. Father H.Y. was released under judicial control.
