A lawsuit has been filed against 17-year-old D.G., who shared a photo with two guns in Adana and wrote "5 minutes to the end of the road" underneath it, seeking a prison sentence of 35 years and 6 months. In the indictment, the defendant stated that he accidentally killed the other person while trying to shoot his relative in the foot for having forcibly engaged in a relationship with his mother.
On March 25, D.G. (17), who entered a coffee shop on Eczacı Haşim Dalgıç Street in the Ulubatlı Hasan neighborhood of Yüreğir district, concealed his face with a scarf and hood, pulled out his gun, and opened fire on Erkan Savan (35), the son of his mother's aunt, who was playing okey. In the attack, both Savan and Ramazan Durak (40), who was next to him, were injured. Durak and Savan, who were taken to the hospital by health teams that arrived at the coffee shop, could not be saved despite all the doctors' interventions.
"THE END OF THE ROAD, LAST 5 MINUTES" After the incident, it was revealed that D.G., who was caught and arrested, shared a photo on his social media account just minutes before the murder, showing him wearing a mask and holding two guns, with a coffin emoji and the initials of the relative he killed, captioned "The end of the road, last 5 minutes."
The public prosecutor completed the investigation against the suspect D.G. and prepared an indictment for the crimes of "purchasing, carrying, and possessing firearms or ammunition that are serious in number and quality, and intentional murder." The indictment sent to the Adana Children's Heavy Criminal Court was accepted after examination. The prosecutor requested that the child, who is a suspect in the double murder, be sentenced to a total of 35 years and 6 months in prison, including 15 years for each of the two murders due to his young age and 5 years and 6 months for the weapon.
Erkan Savan-Ramazan Durak "I BOUGHT A GUN FOR 3,500 LIRA" The indictment included the child's defense, security camera footage, and the autopsy report. In his defense, D.G. stated that his intention was not to kill Erkan Savan and that Ramazan Durak was accidentally killed. Stating that Savan was the son of his mother's aunt, D.G. claimed that Savan occasionally stayed at their house and that he began to suspect due to the closeness he saw between Savan and his mother, describing the moment of the murder as follows:
"My mother was constantly giving money to Erkan. About 2 months before the incident, Erkan came to our house at 1:00 AM. Everyone in the house was asleep. My mother and Erkan sent me to the grocery store. I opened the voice recording on the phone before leaving because I was suspicious of them. When I returned and listened to the recording, there were sounds indicating they were having sexual intercourse. I thought my mother was being forced into a relationship, so I held a grudge against Erkan. I bought a gun for 3,500 lira to shoot him in the foot. Later, I went to the coffee shop where Erkan was. My intention was to shoot Erkan in the foot. However, when Erkan got up from the table, I panicked and fired 5 shots. Some of the bullets hit Erkan, and some hit Ramazan, who was with him. I did not see how Ramazan was shot at the time of the incident. I did not intend to kill Erkan, and Ramazan was also accidentally shot."
SHARED WITH A COFFIN BEFORE THE MURDER In the evaluation section of the indictment, it was emphasized that the child's social media post before the incident indicated that he would commit the murder, stating, "When the social media posts made by the child who was driven to crime regarding the murder of the victim Erkan Savan are evaluated together, it is understood that he acted with the intent to kill the victims by firing with a firearm of serious nature, committing the crimes of intentional murder and violating Law No. 6136."
The 17-year-old suspect D.G., who is accused of killing 2 people, will begin to be tried in the coming days.
