A woman who was caught shopping after shooting her former neighbor in a park in Kayseri left the court speechless. In her defense, the woman said, "I told him I wanted to marry him, he rejected me. He took out his gun and gave it to me, provoking me by saying 'you can't shoot.' So I shot him." The man, however, denied her statement, claiming, "He asked for a loan, I didn't give it. He started shooting."
On April 22 in Kayseri, an incident occurred in a park on Melikgazi 1 Street in the Democracy Neighborhood of the Melikgazi district, where a dispute broke out between F.A. (55) and S.S., who were former neighbors.
CAUGHT WHILE SHOPPING AFTER SHOOTING THE MAN
As the argument escalated, S.S. fired at F.A. with the gun she had with her. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. F.A., who was reported to have been injured in the shoulder, was taken to the hospital, while the suspect woman fled the scene. Police teams initiated a search after the attack and caught the suspect S.S. shopping in a nearby store with the weapon used in the crime. As S.S. was being placed in the police car, she cried out, "He didn't die." An investigation into the incident has been launched.
"I PROPOSED MARRIAGE, SHE REJECTED"
During her appearance before the judge at the 8th Heavy Criminal Court of Kayseri Courthouse, the detained defendant S.S. stated that she had a romantic relationship with F.A. and that she had given F.A. money, saying, "We met in the park. I told her I wanted to marry her, she rejected me. She took out her gun and provoked me by saying, 'You can't shoot me.' So I shot her." When asked about the contradictions in her statement at the police station, S.S. claimed that she had psychological issues and took a lot of pills, which is why she couldn't remember her statement.
"SHE ASKED ME FOR 15 THOUSAND LIRA AFTER DIVORCING HER HUSBAND"
After S.S.'s defense, when the court began to listen to F.A., S.S. reacted by stating that F.A. was lying. Despite the court's warnings, S.S. continued her outburst and insulted F.A. by calling her "dishonorable" as she was taken out of the courtroom. After S.S. was removed from the courtroom, F.A. continued her statement, asserting that the defendant was lying and that they had not had a relationship. She stated that S.S. had lived in the building she managed with her husband for six months and that she knew her from there, saying, "About 1.5 years after she moved out of the building, she came to me. I was going to buy bread. We met in the park. She had divorced her husband and asked me for 15 thousand lira. I told her I couldn't help and turned to leave. I heard four gunshots. She shot me in the shoulder. Then she continued to fire uncontrollably. I have a 40% loss of strength in my arm."
After F.A.'s statement, S.S. was brought back into the courtroom. F.A.'s lawyer stated that S.S. had also threatened her client by writing letters from prison and requested that she be punished. Following F.A.'s shooting, the court postponed the hearing to a later date to address the deficiencies by listening to the witness who reported the incident to the police and ambulance.
