"HE TORTURES HER IN THE WAREHOUSE"

Rojda's sister-in-law Sema Erdem stated in an interview with İhlas News Agency (IHA) that Okay Gür came on leave and immediately called his wives to threaten them with death. Erdem noted that they were checking on Rojda, stating that they arrived home and that the incident occurred around 17:30. Erdem conveyed that Okay took his wife to the warehouse and tortured her to death, saying, "This happened on December 27-28. A relative of ours, while coming from another village, suggested visiting Rojda and inquired about her there. Her husband said, 'I have no idea.' He said, 'Rojda may have gone to her family's house.' Then, the son of her uncle came here asking where Rojda was. They said, 'Rojda's husband has come home; it is impossible for her to come here. She is at her own house.' Rojda's uncle's son also said that her husband told us she went to her father's house. Rojda is missing, so we announced it to the men. He had already threatened her before; we announced that her husband must have done something to her," she said.

"HE STRANGLES HIS WIFE, HITS HER ON THE HEAD, AND PUTS HER IN A BAG"

"We called and asked her husband. He kept saying he had no idea, don't inform the police. We couldn't stand it and informed the police," Erdem said, adding, "After he learned that we had reported it, he called a vehicle. He strangles his wife, hits her on the head, and puts her in a bag. There were signs of torture on some parts of her body. He brought her to a nearby place and buried her. He had help from his big wife. The son of his big wife was also involved. All of these have been proven and established. It was also stated at the police station. His son is 15 years old, and he confessed at the police station, saying, 'My father did this and that.' All of us, all the siblings, were outraged," she said.

"ROJDA REPORTS TO THE POLICE AFTER HER HUSBAND IS RELEASED"

Erdem emphasized that they do not want such people to be released, stating, "As they are released, women see this violence and death. We want the heaviest punishment to be given. He was on an 11-day leave. As soon as he was released, he committed this act. He has three children. Two daughters and one son. His son is 6 years old, his eldest daughter is 10 years old, and the other is 9 years old. His eldest daughter had already seen it. We want everyone who has a hand in this, who has helped him, to be brought to justice. Rojda reported to the police after her husband was released, saying, 'My husband has threatened me.' A guilty person has been released from prison," she said.

HE KIDNAPPED HIS CHILDREN WHO WERE WITNESSES

Erdem noted that both of his wives had reported Okay Gür, concluding her remarks with the following words: "He kidnapped his daughter because she saw it. He took his son and eldest daughter into a vehicle and fled. All of this has come to light. He was caught in Bismil. I request from my state that none of the three children should be handed over to a stepmother or even to the closest relative; I want them to be under state protection. If this has happened to their mother, it can happen to the children as well." Rojda's sister Medine Çelik stated, "I am her sister; I came later. My sister said she was threatened. I don't want my sister's rights to be overlooked." Additionally, it was learned that the suspect Gür had been imprisoned for about 4 years for "drug" offenses and had taken advantage of his 11-day leave after transitioning to an open prison.
