The 'Turkey Card', which will collect public transport cards from all 81 provinces of Turkey into a single card, was officially launched in Rize with a ceremony. During the event held at the 15 July Democracy Square, the application was introduced to participants on public buses. AVAILABLE AT PTTThe application, which can be used on the Rize-Trabzon route, will be expanded throughout the city in the coming days. Citizens will be able to obtain 'Turkey Cards' from PTT. CAN ALSO BE USED IN POS AND ATM DEVICESThe 'Turkey Card', a new transportation payment system, can also be used in POS and ATM devices, for municipal fees and tax payments, parking payments, partner businesses, taxi payments, and food and beverage vending machines. "A SITUATION CAUSING SIGNIFICANT WASTE"During the promotional meeting, PTT General Manager Hakan Gülten explained the purpose of the project, stating, "The aim of this project is to address the many cards used for urban transportation between cities, which are not integrated with each other. When you use a card in Rize, you have to buy a new card when you take a bus or metro in Ankara, or wherever you go in Istanbul, Izmir, or Kocaeli. You have to purchase the card specific to that city. When we finish our visit and return, we forget these cards, and they end up in the trash along with the money on them. Therefore, there is a significant waste here." "A SYSTEM THAT INTEGRATES ALL CARDS"Gülten continued his remarks: "Not all of these cards are produced in our country. Some are cards that come from abroad. This situation also causes significant waste in the national economy. There are many benefits in terms of organizing transportation notes and collecting information about how many passengers move from one place to another daily and at what times, and planning accordingly, as well as monitoring and verifying these. Our Turkey Card project is a system that integrates the cards used in all our cities. Since the cards are integrated with each other, you will not have to buy a new card in every city you visit. This will provide significant convenience to our citizens."
