While speaking at the UN summit, it was reported that the teleprompter of U.S. President Donald Trump malfunctioned, and that the escalator he used with his wife to go to the general assembly hall also broke down. In the footage, Trump and his wife are seen walking to the hall, while the White House stated that if the incident was intentional, those responsible should be fired.

At the UN General Assembly, US President Donald Trump faced a series of mishaps. It was learned that the malfunctioning teleprompter was not the only issue Trump experienced while speaking at the General Assembly.

THE ESCALATOR TRUMP USED STOPPED

It was revealed that the escalator used by Trump and his wife while heading to the General Assembly hall had malfunctioned. In the released footage, it was seen that the Trump couple waited for a while, and when the escalator did not work, they walked to the hall.

WHITE HOUSE: IF INTENTIONAL, THOSE RESPONSIBLE SHOULD BE FIRED

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt made a statement on the situation faced by Trump and his wife Melania Trump early in the morning via a US-based X account. Leavitt stated, "If someone at the UN intentionally stopped the escalator while the President and First Lady were stepping on it, that person should be immediately fired and investigated."

The White House spokesperson also mentioned that The Times newspaper reported on this issue on Sunday and implied that it could be an intentional act. The Times' report suggested that some officials at the UN joked among themselves to stop the escalator when Trump, who cut the funds, arrived, to convey the message "The UN's money has run out."
