The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that "there are both hopes and challenges in Syria," indicating that the political transition process in Syria and how to ease sanctions were on the agenda of the meeting.

The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, made statements regarding the Syria meeting she attended in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

"THERE ARE BOTH HOPE AND CHALLENGES"

Kallas, who stated that "there are both hope and challenges in Syria," announced that she would exchange views with the foreign ministers of Gulf, Middle Eastern, and European countries at the meeting in Riyadh regarding the ongoing transition process in Syria after the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime.

STATEMENT ON SANCTIONS

Kallas noted that sanctions against Syria would also be on the agenda of the meeting, saying, "We will look at how sanctions can be eased, but after that, there should be concrete progress in a political transition process that reflects Syria in all its diversity."

Kallas also shared the message, "The EU is here to assist in this transition process where we are needed and can be most beneficial."
