A blow also came to Iran, which is under attack from the US and Israel, from Europe. The European Council announced that it has decided to impose sanctions on 16 Iranian officials and 3 organizations for violating human rights. While the assets of the individuals and organizations on the sanctions list are frozen in the EU, EU citizens and companies are prohibited from providing funds or economic resources to these individuals and organizations.
While the attacks by the USA and Israel continue, a move against Iran has also come from the European Union (EU).
NEW SANCTIONS FROM THE EU ON 16 IRANIAN OFFICIALS AND 3 ORGANIZATIONS
The EU Council announced that a decision has been made to impose sanctions on 16 Iranian officials and 3 organizations for violating human rights. In a statement from the Council, it was expressed that the new sanctions target individuals and organizations that played a key role in suppressing the "protests held in January" in Iran.
The statement noted that among the 16 officials included in the sanctions list are the Deputy Minister responsible for Security and Law Enforcement of the Iranian Ministry of Interior, as well as some commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and officials from the judiciary.
Additionally, the statement mentioned that among the 3 organizations is an Iranian company responsible for developing a mobile application called Nazer, which is claimed to be used by security forces to monitor citizens, as well as the local commands of the IRGC in two regions.
ASSETS FROZEN
While the assets of the individuals and organizations included in the sanctions list have been frozen in the EU, it has been prohibited for EU citizens and companies to provide funds or economic resources to these individuals and organizations. Additionally, individuals on the list will also be subject to a ban on entry to EU countries or transit through EU territory.
Including those today, a total of 263 individuals and 53 organizations are subject to restrictions under the EU's human rights sanctions against Iran.
