Last October, following a tip-off about prostitution taking place in a massage parlor in Ataşehir, Istanbul, the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation by the Terror and Organized Crime Investigation Bureau. As part of the investigation, four suspects were detained and arrested in simultaneous raids last February, one of whom was identified as Youtuber Kerem Balin, along with his brother-in-law, cousin, and influencer girlfriend Nehir Ayaz. THE PROSTITUTION RING WAS REPORTED BY AN EX-GIRLFRIENDThe tip-off stated that Nehir Ayaz was trafficking women and that she was securing clients for the parlor through her own Instagram account. Influencer Nehir Ayaz claimed that one of the people who reported the ring was herself. Ayaz explained that during her relationship with Balin, she engaged in prostitution in Denizli, posted advertisements online for prostitution, and shared part of her earnings with her boyfriend. Ayaz mentioned that Balin's cousin and brother-in-law were also involved in facilitating clients and received a share, but they eventually separated, and her ex-boyfriend's brother-in-law continued to take money from her. She later learned that Balin opened a massage parlor in Ataşehir, Istanbul, and was making money by engaging in prostitution under the guise of massage, which led her to report the situation to the police. "I DEFINITELY DO NOT ACCEPT THE PROSTITUTION ALLEGATIONS"Youtuber Kerem Balin stated, "We were shooting music videos with Nehir. We had a close relationship. After that, I broke up with her because she interfered too much in my life. My YouTube channel was stolen. I opened a parlor because I have a massage certificate. After Nehir learned about my business, she constantly harassed me. I definitely do not accept the prostitution allegations." "NEHİR WAS OBSESSED WITH KEREM"The other detained suspect, Burak D., said, "We opened the parlor together as four friends. Kerem's girlfriend Nehir became obsessed with him and learned about our massage parlor. She made baseless accusations and threats. We closed the shop for this reason. I have absolutely no involvement in prostitution." 7 YEARS OF PRISON SENTENCE REQUESTEDIn the indictment involving six victimized women, a case was opened against seven suspects, including Youtuber Kerem Balin and influencer girlfriend Nehir Ayaz, for "encouraging, facilitating, or providing a location for prostitution in a chain manner," with a request for up to seven years in prison.
