The expulsion of the CHP's representative in the USA, who criticized Özgür Özel, has been requested.

The CHP's U.S. Representative Yurter Özcan, who made harsh criticisms against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, has been referred to the CHP High Disciplinary Board with a request for expulsion.

Özcan criticized Özel's statements and program during his trip to the U.S., and it was later announced that he had been dismissed.

Speaking to journalist Barış Terkoğlu regarding the expulsion request, Özcan stated, "I learned that I have been referred to the High Disciplinary Board of the Republican People's Party with a request for expulsion, of which I have been a part for 15 years and have held the U.S. Representative position for 12 years. The reason given for my expulsion is a criticism I wrote on social media. In this message, I criticized CHP Chairman Özgür Özel for not meeting with the Turkish community and CHP members living there during his visit to New York and for his incorrect statements regarding the U.S."

"I STAND BY MY WORDS"

Özcan also stated, "I stand by my words. I do not believe that a politician who cannot tolerate even a criticism that does not contain insults or slander will do beneficial work for the Republic of Turkey, nor do I believe that he will genuinely fight against the AKP government. Millions see what I see, and I am sure of that. If we do not protect freedom of expression, the culture of criticism, or the right to dissent in the Republican People's Party, the founding party of the Republic of Turkey, how can we ensure democracy across the country? Trying to establish a similar Empire of Fear in the CHP, which has been created by the AKP government, is a great mistake," he said.
