The process of the 8th Term Collective Bargaining, which will determine the financial and social rights of civil servants for the 2026-2027 period, is starting. Preparations before the negotiations have been completed, and the countdown for the first meeting has begun. The rate of salary increase and demands for social rights will be discussed. If an agreement cannot be reached by the end of August, the decision will be left to the Arbitration Board.
The countdown continues for the collective bargaining process covering the years 2026-2027 for civil servants. A preparatory meeting regarding the negotiations was held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Now, all eyes are on the date of the first meeting.
SOCIAL RIGHTS WILL ALSO BE EVALUATED
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated regarding the collective bargaining process, "As in every period, we will consult on many issues concerning civil servants and retirees within the scope of financial and social rights through the social dialogue mechanism."
The 8th Term Collective Bargaining Negotiations in the public sector will begin tomorrow. The Ministry of Labor and Social Security will host the meetings. The authorized union Memur-Sen will be at the table during the negotiations. Representatives of Türkiye Kamu-Sen and Birleşik Kamu-İş Confederation will also represent civil servants and retirees.
THE REQUESTED SALARY INCREASE RATE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS AND RETIREES WILL BE DISCUSSED
During the meeting, the requested salary increase rate for civil servants and retirees and the work done will be on the table. Requests regarding social rights will also be evaluated. The date of the second meeting will be announced. The negotiations between the unions and the public employer delegation must be completed by the end of the third week of August. If an agreement cannot be reached by this date, the Public Servants Arbitration Board will intervene. The decision of the Arbitration Board will be binding.
